Claude Duet: an AI that tells you what needs doing

Anthropic's Claude Duet is a proactive agent: it checks your apps, sends a morning brief and does tasks on its own cloud computer, asking before anything risky.

On 21 October 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Duet, a proactive AI agent. Instead of waiting for a question, it works out what needs doing.

What it does

  • A daily morning brief
  • Checks your connected apps every few hours and sends alerts
  • Does work on its own cloud computer, from admin tasks to building web apps
  • Asks your permission before sending messages, making payments or deleting files

It runs on Claude Opus 5.5 and uses your Claude memory and connected apps.

Rivals

Competitors include OpenAI's Dots and Meta's Muse.

Availability

At launch, Duet is a research preview for Pro and Max users in the USA, with a waitlist. It isn't available in India yet.
